Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo snubbed by Academy for THIS reason
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have reportedly been snubbed by Academy for their roles in Wicked: For Good.
Dishing out the reason, one anonymous voter claimed that they decided not to nominate both stars because of their creepiness.
While speaking to News Nation, one voter revealed that they were “put off” by Ariana and Cynthia’s overly affectionate press tour displays.
The voter told the outlet, “The movie wasn’t that great. The two have amazing on-screen chemistry but spent most of the movie apart.”
“I was also just completely turned off by their promotional performances,” mentioned a voter.
They added that Ariana and Cynthia “creeped a lot of people out and in their rush to feel authentic, came off as cosplaying”.
Another voter spilled to the outlet that new movie “wasn’t that good and sucked the air out of any red carpet they were on — and no one wanted to go through that again”.
“We were protecting Ariana from her anxiety — and Cynthia from having to intervene. Again,” pointed out a voter.
Despite the Oscar snub, Ariana was reportedly nominated at the 2026 Golden Globes.
