A collection of photos from the archives of celebrity photographer Jim Frank was recently installed in Bing’s Bar at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. The glamorous black and white images on the wood paneled walls, starring celebs like Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds, Jane Fonda, Michael Jackson and Paul Newman holding court, will be part of the bar for the next three years.
The Hollywood Reporter for over two decades. The photos on display at the Inn were selected from Frank’s rarely seen “Hollywood Renaissance Collection” which provides a glimpse into the inner circles, parties, and private moments of the New Hollywood era in the 1970’s and 80s.
Guests celebrated the unveiling of the collection over champagne and caviar and a special rum cocktail dubbed “The Jim Frank” at a private party on Jan. 14.
Jennifer Findley of JFIN Collective, a La Jolla-based art advisory, curated the new Inn installation.
“Jim Frank’s lens distills the effortless cool of Hollywood’s glamour era and this collaboration with Bing’s marks an irresistible match. Both embody seductive luxury, drawing you into a world where style is instinctive and presence is everything,” Findley said. “The result of the exhibition is a sense of belonging, defined by chic sophistication, timeless allure and the confidence of being exactly where you should be.”
Bing’s Bar, itself named for Hollywood icon Bing Crosby, opened in 2023 following the Inn’s ownership change and complete renovation.
Set off the lobby with the feel of an elegant speakeasy, the cozy bar is a spot for wines by the glass, crafted cocktails and light bites like artichoke spinach hummus, lollipop chicken wings with house-made bleu cheese and Waygu burgers. Every Tuesday night at Bing’s is now “Tues-Tini”, offering $6 martinis with the purchase of an appetizer.
