Queen Elizabeth II was a popular monarch throughout her reign and managed to always appear composed even in the most challenging times in the public eye. However, there were a few moments when she did let her composure slip.
One of these moments was when photographers appeared to break the royal rule of not walking in front of the Queen. The moment was filmed and shown in the 2002 documentary about her life “The Queen: A Remarkable Life”.
The footage showed the late Queen walking along and gesturing to crowds of photographers to move out her way. She could be heard asking them: “Do you mind?”.
While it is not a set-in-stone rule not to walk in front of a monarch, it is believed to be courteous not to do this.
Instead, it is believed to be more appropriate to walk slightly behind or alongside a monarch as they are the person with the highest rank.
This saw Trump receive a lot of backlash, despite the fact he didn’t break any official rules doing this.
