Sarah Ferguson spoke out in defence of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and took aim at those who made up “salacious lies” in an interview back in 2015. A video of Sarah on The Meredith Vieira Show over ten years ago has resurfaced over the last few days, with Sarah responding to accusations made about her ex-husband, Andrew.
In the 2015 interview, Sarah defended Andrew, saying: “I don’t understand in this day and age how people can make salacious lies up.”
She continued: “This is defamation of character of a person who is the opposite of how he is portrayed. It’s just shockingly accusatory lies which I won’t stand by or let anybody believe”
Sarah also said the accusations had made her feel “total fury,” especially since Andrew was her best friend and the father of her daughters.
Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing or accusations against him surrounding his former friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
He also reached an out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre in 2022, without admitting wrongdoing. Virginia tragically died last year when she took her own life at the age of 41.
