Halle Berry shares her experience battling sexism in Hollywood
Halle Berry has recently opened up about her experience battling sexism in Hollywood.
The actress, who plays Sharon role in her new thriller Crime 101, revealed why she was drawn to the new character.
“I have an opportunity here to put in film something that I’m wildly passionate about personally,” said the 59-year-old in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Halle continued, “And that’s not always the case when you take on a character.”
“Sometimes they’re so far from you. It’s nice to get into a new skin and experience something different, but this was so me,” explained the Catwoman actress.
Elsewhere in the interview, Halle mentioned that the scene where her character called out her sexist boss was somewhat “satisfying” moment for her.
When asked if she ever stood up for herself in her career, the actress replied, “Oh, yes. A really famous one, when I got to tell Bryan Singer just where to go and how to get there on the set of X-Men one day.”
She told EW, “It’s one of the greatest days on a set, telling someone who was wronging the entire crew, the entire cast, exactly where to go. And then I got on a plane and flew home with my X-Men suit on.
