Music, monster trucks and motorhomes will be the stars of this weekend’s entertainment calendar in Wichita.

Return of Monster Jam
Monster Jam returns to Wichita’s Intrust Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman, this weekend, and shows are scheduled for noon and 6 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday. The event will feature an arena full of dirt with 12,000-pound monster trucks standing up on two wheels and flying through the air. Tickets for the show are $30 to $124 and are available at selectaseat.com, by calling 316-755-7328 or in person at the Select-A-Seat box office inside Intrust Bank Arena.
Cherokee Maidens reunite
The Cherokee Maidens, a crooning, scatting Western-swing vocal trio that has been on hiatus for seven years, will perform at 7 p.m. on Friday at Walker’s Jazz Lounge, 252 N. Mosley. The group includes Robin Macy, Monica Taylor and Lauren White and in the past has been nominated for several Academy of Western Artists awards. Tickets are $20 in advance at www.WalkersJazzLounge.com and $25 at the door. The group will perform again at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 1.
Beatles Bacchanal
Lots of local musicians will perform beloved Beatles tunes on Saturday at the 3rd Beatles Bacchanal, which will start at 6 p.m. at The Cotillion, 11120 W. Kellogg. The show is a fundraiser for Music Youth Partnership. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 to $50 at thecotillion.com, and the show is open to all ages. All seating for the show is reserved.
Greater RV Show
Yet another big convention will fill up Wichita’s Century II Convention Center, 225 W. Douglas, this weekend. The Wichita RV & Travel Show is a family-friendly event that will run Friday through Sunday and will allow visitors to tour RVs, campers, coaches, travel trailers, fifth wheels and luxury vans. It will run from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $11.97 for ages 17 and up and free for ages 16 and under at selectaseat.com
Lunar New Year at Botanica
The Chinese Garden at Botanica, 701 N. Amidon, will be the site of a Lunar New Year celebration on Saturday that will include hands-on cultural activities, traditional Chinese Lunar New Year foods for sale, live demonstrations, and an appearance by Chinese brush painter Chiaw-Weai Loo. Most of the activities will be included with Botanica admission, but a calligraphy workshop at 10 a.m. and a Chinese New Year Mahjong celebration at 4 p.m. require additional tickets. Winter bluegrass festival
The Kansas Bluegrass Association is putting on its 36th Annual Winterfest bluegrass festival this weekend, and the two-day event will feature performers like The Larry Stephenson Band, John Depew Trio, Henhouse Prowlers, Driven, and Jennylou & the Buckaroos. The festival happens Friday and Saturday at the Wichita Marriott, 9100 E. Corporate Hills Drive. Two-day tickets are $80, Saturday-only tickets are $54, and Friday evening-only tickets are $44. Ages 16 and under will be admitted free. Tickets are available at the door. The festival also includes jam sessions and activities for kids.
