OHIO — The nominations are in!
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame released its list for the 2026 nominees on Wednesday, which features 17 artists and groups — 10 of which are on the ballot for the first time.
The nominees are:
- The Black Crowes
- Jeff Buckley
- Mariah Carey
- Phil Collins
- Melissa Etheridge
- Lauryn Hill
- Billy Idol
- INXS
- Iron Maiden
- Joy Division/New Order
- New Edition
- Oasis
- P!NK
- Sade
- Shakira
- Luther Vandross
- Wu-Tang Clan
“This diverse list of talented nominees recognizes the ever-evolving faces and sounds of Rock & Roll and its continued impact on youth culture,” said John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “Induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is music’s highest honor and we look forward to celebrating the Class of 2026 this Fall.”
Artists and bands can become eligible for nomination 25 years after releasing their first commercial recording, the Rock Hall said.
The 10 who are on the list for the first time are Jeff Buckley, Phil Collins, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, INXS, New Edition, P!NK, Shakira, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.
The nominee ballots will now be distributed to an international voting panel, which is composed of more than 1,200 artists, historians and music industry professionals. They will select artists based on impact of music culture, influence on other musicians that have followed and the scope and longevity of their career.
Inductees will be revealed in April. The ceremony will take place this fall. Exact dates and ticket sales haven’t been announced.
