On Thursday, March 5, the iconic actress and rapper hopped on Instagram to personally shut down a viral death hoax that had people in their feelings for no reason. Rocking an olive green hoodie, Dana Owens looked directly into the camera and delivered the message herself: “I’m 100% a-ok. Can’t believe what you read on the internet or see. Can’t believe nothin’ now, right? I’m good. Peace.” Then she blew kisses, threw up a peace sign, and logged off like the royalty she is.
The comments went exactly how you’d expect.
“Did they try to off the QUEEN?!” one fan wrote. Another clapped back on her behalf: “They better quit playing with the queen.” And honestly? Same.
At 55, Latifah has zero time for the foolishness — and she’s been in her unbothered era anyway. She recently wrapped up five seasons as Robyn McCall on The Equalizer in May 2025, so the legend is clearly in a new chapter — one where she’s not tolerating internet rumors or bad vibes. And just signed a deal with Lifetime.
