The Royal Family has been rocked by the Epstein scandal surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, as well as his recent arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office and his release under investigation hours later.
The 66-year-old is currently residing in Norfolk following his release, and no family members have visited him. Speaking about the recent scandal, past and present royal aides have reportedly expressed clear concerns for the Firm.
As reported by HELLO!, one former senior aide said: “Reading the papers at the weekend, it’s the first time I’ve really thought that actually, we’re not in a good position.”
The expert, who recently released a new royal book, titled William & Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, added: “There is intense pressure on the Royal Family, possibly like there’s never been before.
“Serious questions are going to be asked. I think the politicians are now scratching the surface. The deference has potentially been lost. We have a situation where MPs are standing up and pretty much listing their perceptions of [Andrew’s] behaviour. It’s extraordinary.

“And you have the police investigations. You have the added issue of the UK government, supported by some of the realms that are coming forward now, saying that they will strip him from the line of succession. This is very, very serious.”
Following his brother’s arrest last week and before his release later that day, King Charles shared a statement.
It expressed his “deepest concern” for the situation, adding that “the law must take its course”.
