EXCLUSIVE: Emmy-nominated Yellowjackets executive producer Drew Comins has signed an exclusive, overall television deal with indie film and TV studio A24 for his Creative Engine Entertainment production company.

Under the multi-year pact, Creative Engine will develop series for streaming, which will be executive produced by Comins. He will be working on the A24 slate with his team at Creative Engine, Brandon Finkelstein, the former CAA agent who joined the company last year as VP of Production and Development, and recent addition Caroline Kitzmiller, formerly of Hartbeat, who came on board as Director of Development.

More from Deadline

Additional hires are expected to scale up television and other divisions of Creative Engine.

Comins is coming off a first-look deal at Fifth Season, which yielded a number of high-profile sales, with at least one more pending. They include Lena Dunham’s spy series Covers for Netflix, which was sold with a 20-week writers room commitment and has Chip Johannessen on board as co-showrunner; The Holdout, starring Amy Adams at HBO and written/executive produced by Industry creators Mickey Down & Konrad Kay, which also was sold with a 20-week writers room; The Stowaway, starring Oscar Isaac, written by Steven Levenson and to be directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, which has a script-to-series commitment at Apple TV after a bidding war; Hancock Park, starring Regé-Jean Page and written by Matthew Barry, sold script-to-series to Netflix in a bidding situation; a Dangerous Liaisons reimagining from writer Nicôle Lecky, which landed a 10-week writers room at Netflix UK; and Millennium, from writer Dave Harris and producer Malcolm Spellman, at HBO.

Prior to his stint at Fifth Season, Comins had a deal at eOne (now Lionsgate). As part of that partnership, he developed and sold Yellowjackets, which is slated to begin production on its fourth and final season this year. He has received two Emmy nominations as an executive producer of the Showtime series in the Outstanding Drama category.

With Lionsgate TV, also stemming from Comins’ deal there, Creative Engine has They Both Die At the End, which has a script-to-series commitment at Netflix after a bidding war with Bridgerton creator Chris Van Dusen and Bad Bunny.

On the feature side, Comins executive produced the 2022 Amazon Prime film All the Old Knives starring Chris Pine.
