Season 24 of American Idol heads to Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawai’i for another two-part theme starting in episode eight on Monday.
American Idol is starting to get serious after the initial 30 contestants were whittled down to the Top 20 last week. On Monday, in the eighth episode of season 24, “Top 20 at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawai’i – Part 1,” those final contestants look to build even more momentum. Three platinum tickets were handed out to the Top 20 contestants last week, setting the stage for the first favorites of the season. Jordan McCullough, Brooks Rosser and Kyndal Inskeep earned those platinum tickets. The platinum tickets are each determined by industry executives, the contestants and the contestants’ families.

Last season, the platinum tickets went to Filo, who was eliminated in the Top 12 and to both Canaan James Hill and Kolbi Jordan, who were eliminated in the Top 10. Earning a platinum ticket is not a guarantee to win American Idol, let alone make it all the way to the finals.
