Penticton included on country music legend’s next tour

Dwight Yoakam, who rose to fame with his 1986 debut album, is set to hit the Penticton stage.
With multiple Grammy awards and 25 million records sold worldwide, the singer-songwriter will bring his country music sound to the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC) on Sunday, June 28.
Yoakam was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019. His catalog includes 12 gold albums and 9 platinum or multi-platinum releases.
The Pikeville, Kentucky native’s latest release, Brighter Days, marks his first record in nine years.
Yoakam’s career has also taken him to the silver screen as he has appeared in 40 feature films, including notable roles in Sling Blade (1996) and Panic Room (2002).
“Yoakam is a multifaceted artist, seamlessly blending his musical talents with a robust acting career,” reads a media release shared by Oak View Group, which manages the SOEC.
Tickets to his Penticton show will go on sale Friday, March 27, at 10 a.m. They can be purchased at valleyfirsttix.com, or at the SOEC box office.
When he comes to the venue in June, the show will start at 7 p.m.
