• UPDATED: iHeartMedia Classic Rock WAXQ (Q104.3)/New York announced a new era for the legendary Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning Show, as host Jim Kerr will be joined by new co-hosts Christin Marks and Trevor Marden, bringing fresh energy, personality and perspective to New York’s longest-running morning show. Kerr has been without a permanent co-host since last September, when longtime co-host Shelli Sonstein took a leave of absence following the death of her daughter. In January Sonstein announced she would not be returning to the show.

Marks (left) has been with the iHeart News department for more than ten years, anchoring and reporting for sister 710 WOR and Triple A WXPK (107.1 The Peak)/Westchester County, NY, where she was also part of the morning show for eight years. Marks was earlier on-air with the late WFNX/Boston and did news and traffic for other stations in the region.

Marden (right) has served as Executive Producer of Kerr’s morning show for the past six years and will continue to add his dynamic perspective and passion for music, sports and pop culture. Marden previously spent seven years as Scott Shannon‘s producer at Classic Hits WCBS-FM, and served as Executive Producer of WOR Tonight on 710 WOR.

“I’m thrilled to launch the next era of the Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning Show,” said Eric Wellman, Program Director of Q104.3. “You’ve got a legend like Jim Kerr paired with the sharp, Brooklyn semi-hipster, news anchor and rocker Christin Marks and Trevor Marden, a heavy-metal-loving suburban New Jersey dad. That mix brings serious personality, humor and edge to mornings in New York. It’s fresh energy for Q104.3, and I can’t wait to hear what happens when these three hit the air together.”

A New York radio institution, the Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning Show has entertained generations of listeners with its signature mix of Classic Rock, humor, celebrity interviews and conversations about the stories shaping the Tri-State area. The promotion of Christin Marks and Trevor Marden ushers in an exciting new chapter while continuing the tradition listeners have loved for decades.
