The video is not the official music video for ‘Elizabeth Taylor,’ but rather an accompanying visualiser available on Spotify and Apple Music.
Taylor Swift has paid homage to Elizabeth Taylor in a new music video. The singer dropped the video, available on Spotify and Apple Music, on March 31, sharing it on her Instagram story.
Featuring clips from some of Elizabeth’s best known films, including A Place in the Sun, Cleopatra, Cat on a Tin Roof, and Father of The Bride, the video is a tribute to the late movie star.
The video for ‘Elizabeth Taylor’ also includes archival footage depicting her career, including paparazzi storming her car, and Elizabeth showing off the engagement ring from her ex husband Richard Burton.
Though Swift herself didn’t appear in the music video, she provided a special thanks section at the end, thanking Elizabeth’s family, as well as her ex-husbands’ (Mike Todd and Michael Wilding) families. The actress died of congestive heart failure back in 2011 at age 79.
Swift has previously admitted to taking inspiration from the movie star, calling her “a role model.” In the ‘Elizabeth Taylor Track by Track’ voice note, she described her Elizabeth Taylor-inspired song as a “love song through the lens” of what the actress went through in her life, while also drawing parallels to her own.
Last month, The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) revealed that Swift was the best-selling artist worldwide in 2025, naming her the Global Artist of the Year for the fourth year in a row.
That same month she released the music video for ‘Opalite’, featuring the Irish likes of Domhnall Gleeson, Cillian Murphy, Graham Norton, and more.
The video for ‘Elizabeth Taylor’ comes nearly six months after Swift dropped her twelfth studio album The Life of a Showgirl.
