Bryan Cranston has revealed that he was stung by a bee in a rather delicate area while filming a classic Malcolm in the Middle episode.

In one of the season 1 episodes, Cranston’s character was covered in bees by Malcolm and his friends, and he confirmed to Colbert, 61, that they were indeed real bees.

“I had 60,000 bees on me and I was stung twice,” he shared. “And a couple things that you realize when you’re wearing 60,000 bees, you should not be surprised if you get stung.”

He continued, “I went, ‘Oh, I think I got stung.’ And the bee wrangler said he’s ready to scrape it off, right? He goes, ‘Where is it?’ And I go, ‘On my scrotum.’ “

After laughter from Colbert and the audience, Cranston revealed that the bee wrangler told him, “You’re on your own. I’m not going to help you.”

The Breaking Bad star also explained how they got the bees on him in the first place. They took pheromones from the queen bee and put them all over him, aside from his face, which had insect repellent on it instead to keep them away.

Cranston, alongside his co-star Jane Kaczmarek, who plays Hal’s wife Lois, recently spoke to PEOPLE about how they made their on-screen marriage work as they also opened up about the revival.

“It was a good marriage,” said Cranston. “They complemented each other because of the contrast to each other.”

He added, “The thing that they really had in common was a deep, deep rooted love for each other. And you always felt no matter what was going on in that house, they would still be together. They’ll be together until one of them—”

“Murders the other one!” joked Kaczmarek, 70.

Meanwhile, Frankie Muniz, who plays Malcolm himself, told PEOPLE that having his 4-year-old son, Mauz Mosley, alongside him at the Life’s Still Unfair premiere on Tuesday, April 7, was “really cool.”

The 40-year-old explained, “I don’t know if it’s weird to show your kid stuff that you did, but obviously I’m proud of it. I love that he got to experience being a part of it.”
