A celebration of community, connection and creativity takes center stage on Friday as Youngstown hosts its second annual National Community Development Day—highlighted by a pop-up skatepark designed to bring new energy and opportunity to the city’s riverfront.
Held from noon to 6 p.m. at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre and Wean Park, Community Development Day features food trucks, vendors, music, games and family-friendly activities. The event will also feature a pop-up skatepark by the Youngstown Skatepark Association, transforming part of the venue into a temporary space for skateboards, BMX bikes, scooters and more.
The event anchors a full week of activities across Youngstown from Friday through Thursday, spanning live entertainment, Youngstown State University athletics, arts and cultural programming and community gatherings.
