LOS ANGELES — From Apple TV and director Jonah Hill comes the dark comedy “Outcome.”
The film centers on Keanu Reeves’ character Reef Hawk, a beloved Hollywood star who must dive into the depths of his hidden demons after he is extorted with a mysterious video that’s sure to shatter his image and end his career.
Hill, who also co-wrote “Outcome,” brings us along Reef’s wild but spiritually cleansing, nostalgic and eye-opening trip down memory lane, where confronting his past might be the only way to rescue his future.
Laverne Cox told Spectrum News that the film’s humor and the relationships between Reeves, Cameron Diaz and Matt Boomer’s characters will resonate with the audience.
“Their relationship is funny and complicated,” she said. “It’s the people who are closest to us, who really have our backs… sometimes we can forget how amazing they are. We can take people for granted sometimes. This is a reminder not to do that.”

As Reef grapples with his fear of being “canceled” because of the contents of the mysterious video, Roy Wood Jr. told Spectrum News that in the broader sense of things, you can separate the art from the artist.
“You also have to be very careful about spending your dollars in places where it is going to end up in the hands of people that are a little duplicitous,” he said. “You can acknowledge someone’s skill set before at any point saying you still condone everything they do and did after that particular thing.”
“Outcome” is now streaming on Apple TV. The film stars Reeves, Hill, Cox, Wood Jr., Cameron Diaz, Matt Bomer, Martin Scorsese, Atsuko Okatsuka and Susan Lucci.
Cox also shared with Spectrum News what she has learned about herself from listening to others.
