The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office will be onsite to collect expired and unneeded medications at no cost
The Towpath Rotary Club is helping the community with spring cleaning and identity protection through its annual Document Shred and Electronic Recycling Day.
The event will take place Saturday, April 18, from 9-11 a.m. in the Ohio Billing parking lot on state Route 212 in Bolivar.
“Spring cleaning and the end of tax season is the perfect time to collect unwanted documents for shredding and clear out outdated or broken electronic items,” said Jon Elsasser, Towpath Rotary representative. “This has always been such a beneficial community service. By securely shredding personal papers and responsibly disposing of electronics and prescription drugs, we give our neighbors peace of mind while keeping hazardous materials out of landfills and our water supply.”
Document shredding will be provided by Sanmandy Enterprises. The cost is $5 per banker’s box, about 12.5 inches by 10.5 inches by 16.31 inches or smaller. There is no limit on the number of boxes per person.
Electronics recycling will be provided by eCycle Solutions of Ohio. Most items will be accepted at no charge.

Large appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers, and household batteries, including AA, AAA, C, D and 9-volt batteries, will not be accepted.
Some electronics, including CRT monitors, flat-screen TVs and fluorescent light bulbs, may carry a disposal fee. A full list of accepted electronics and fees is available at shorturl.at/WInk5.
