Another weekend is here, Toronto, which means a new lineup of things to do across the city. 

From late-night parties and immersive art to food fests and Earth Month events, these are all the things you can do this weekend! 

Friday, April 17

Aquatica: An Immersive Underwater Art Experience

  • Location: Super Wonder Gallery, 1162 Bloor St. W

Dive into a late-night art experience that transforms the gallery into the deep-sea world, with installations inspired by mythical creatures, shipwrecks, Atlantis, the ocean life and more. The two-night event taking place this weekend also features live music, burlesque performances, and an afterparty set in an “underwater cave,” making it an art show and a unique nightlife experience. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the event’s ticket website.

Global Late Night featuring Where People Stay At

  • Location: Lula Lounge, 1585 Dundas St. W

Keep the night going at Lula Lounge’s weekly late-night dance party, where the dance floor shifts from live Latin sounds into a high-energy global party! This edition spotlights ‘Where People Stay At,’ a DJ-led pop-up centering Afro-disaporic sounds and creatives, with genres ranging from afrobeats and baile funk to soca and salsa. Guests can expect a lively, inclusive crowd and nonstop music from 11:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., plus the option to catch part of the live Latin band if you arrive earlier in the night. Startup Fashion Week Runway Show

  • Location: Illuminarium, 28 Gristmill Ln. 

This runway showcase is spotlighting emerging Canadian designers and creatives shaping the future of fashion. This year’s “In Bloom” theme has a twist in store, incorporating fragrance into the show alongside collections from different up-and-coming brands. The evening kicks off with registration at 6:30 p.m., followed by the runway at 8 p.m. and a post-show networking session. Tickets are selling out fast, and there’s only a limited amount left. Saturday, April 18

Earth Month Coffee Pop-Up with Metalogics x Street Brew

  • Location: Trinity Bellwoods Park, 790 Queen St. W

Celebrate Earth Month with a coffee run that helps the environment. Metalogics is teaming up with Street Brew to serve free coffee in the park, while encouraging visitors to bring recyclable metal to donate. The collected materials will go toward a live installation tracking how much the community contributes throughout the day. Running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the pop-up is inviting Torontonians to show up, sip coffee, and give old materials a second life just ahead of Earth Day on April 22. 

T.O. Food & Drink Fest 

  • Location: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 255 Front St. W

One of the city’s most anticipated food festivals is back with three days of eats, drinks and entertainment under one roof this weekend. Expect over 200 vendors, chef demos, international cuisine, food trucks, wine tastings and mixology classes, with live music and DJ sets to pump up festival-goers and keep the energy going into the night. It’s a foodie playground and party, with dance floors open on Friday and Saturday and many changes to sample dishes from some of Toronto’s top chefs and local favourites. 

Earth Day Globe Walk Toronto

  • Location: Starts at Bluffer’s Park Beach (1 Brimley Rd. S) and travels across the city

In honour of Earth Day, there will be a city-wide walk that blends activism, art and community all in one. Volunteers will carry a giant globe through Toronto in a 25-kilometre parade, starting with a sunrise ceremony led by Indigenous elders and ending at sunset by the Humber Bay shoreline. Along the route, expect stops at parks like Withrow, Christie Pits and High Park, each featuring performances, art activities and gatherings. You can join in at any point and be part of the movement! Sunday, April 19

BARKADA MRKT: Spring Market

  • Location: STACKT Market, 28 Bathurst St. 

Back for its third year, this annual spring market is bringing together over 30 vendors for a full day of shopping, food, and music. Browse everything from handmade goods and clothing to art and home decor, while snacking on Asian-inspired eats. Running from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., the free, pet-friendly event is all about community, good vibes, and celebrating the Asian community! There will also be swag bags and plenty of talent from all around the city to discover. 

Eat Well Live Well Expo

  • Location: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building, 222 Bremner Blvd. 

This two-day wellness expo this weekend brings together everything from healthy eats to fitness and mindfulness, all in one place. Visitors and guests can expect cooking demos, expert talks, and plenty of brands showcasing nutritious food, drinks, and lifestyle products. Plus Size Spring Market 

  • Location: Cecil Community Centre, 58 Cecil St. 

A celebration of style and community, this spring market highlights plus-size vintage, secondhand finds and local designers all in one space. Browse clothing from XL to 5XL+, size-inclusive jewellery, art, zines and more, all curated with inclusivity at the forefront. Running from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., the free event is welcome to everyone, and they will be giving out a few plant-based treats to enjoy while you shop.
