The Real Housewives of Rhode Island star Alicia Carmody is revealing why she hasn’t married yet after a nearly 10-year engagement.
In the premiere episode of the reality show, Carmody, 41, shared that she and her fiancé, Bill “Billy” Kitsilis, have been engaged since she was pregnant with their now-9-year-old daughter, Celina. Then, in episode 4, she opened up about her issues with the prenuptial agreement that Kitsilis — a lawyer and restaurateur — proposed.
“He came from nothing,” she later said of her fiancé on the Bravo series’ After Show, where she was joined by castmate Jo-Ellen Tiberi. “His family was immigrants from Greece. He went to college and did it all himself. He’s worked so hard. He owns a lot of businesses — more than 10 — that he started with his family. And some stuff I don’t even know, you know?”
She added: “But he’s quiet, and I love that about him. He’s not flashy. So, I think that, like, he is so protective, and I respect that.”
Considering all of this, Carmody said she was fine with signing a prenup and told Kitsilis, “I don’t want to take away from what you did in the past. I don’t want your businesses with your family and your friends and everything, but, like, I just want something.”

As she explained during RHORI‘s fourth episode, Carmody had her attorneys review Kitsilis’ initial agreement. She was then allegedly informed that Kitsilis was “not even leaving [her] with a penny, nothing.”
Carmody additionally claimed that her fiancé has refused to put her name on the deed for the family home they share with their daughter. “So, I feel like I live rent-free,” she explained on the After Show. “This is my problem. I don’t really pay for anything. I pay for my nails.”

Tiberi then interjected, “But you literally are a mother and you’re a wife.”
“I know, I agree,” Carmody said, “but deep down inside, I’m like, ‘OK, like, you’re not working. But he didn’t really want you to work, Alicia.’ “

“So, it wasn’t an easy situation for me,” she continued. “It kind of made me feel like, you don’t trust me — and I don’t even spend his money.”
Carmody went on to explain that it came down to a point of trust.
“I feel like people that know me and love me know that the reason why they love me the most is because they trust me,” she said. “And the person that I shared a daughter with didn’t trust me. So, I felt slighted by that. And that caused a setback in our marriage. It’s made me feel like I’m not worthy enough.”
Tiberi then suggested that it was Carmody’s “own insecurity” that was holding her back from getting married, and Carmody conceded that she was “probably” right.
