Former boxer David Haye and television personality Gemma Collins have been eliminated from I’m A Celebrity… South Africa in a double eviction.
The pair became the second and third contestants to depart the all-star ITV reality series during Monday evening’s broadcast.
Haye’s exit came after campmates individually voted to save others, leaving him as the last unsaved celebrity.
In a surprising turn, the 45-year-old was then tasked with selecting another campmate to join him in leaving the jungle, and he named Towie star Collins.
It comes after Haye sparked controversy for criticising Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas on the reality show for opting out of a bushtucker trial because he was “dehydrated” and “not feeling well”.
When asked how he felt after not being saved by his campmates, Haye said: “I’m okay. I’m happy. Had an amazing time. Great, great new friends. Lots of experiences.
Collins, who quit the original series after three days because she struggled with the environment in Australia, said she was more ‘determined’ during this series (ITV)
“Today and yesterday, people started cracking. It was a bit more beef between people.
“Me and Adam had a little bit about back and forth. I was bantering, but the banter, he didn’t really like the banter.”
He admitted that he may have pushed it a little too far with Adam adding that he is “an extremist” and that he can’t help himself.
“It’s all love. I love him, really. He’s a cool guy,” he added.
Thomas has since admitted that Haye “pushed me to my limits” while on the show, but said that the boxer has since apologised and the pair have moved on, adding: “I’m not one to hold a grudge.”
He also explained that he did not feel well due to having psoriatic arthritis, which is a long-term condition that causes joint pain, swelling and stiffness, according to the NHS.
It is not the first time Haye has faced controversy for his actions on the spin-off show, having caused a stir last week for his remarks on “ugly birds” while discussing his girlfriend Sian Osborne.
Meanwhile Collins, who quit the original series after three days because she struggled with the environment in Australia, said: “I was much more determined this time.
“I had a lot to prove, just to do a trial was just like such a moment in my life, because I never thought I could do it.
“Obviously, it’s always easy to be outwardly confident, but sometimes inside you are a little bit less confident.”
Speaking about her time on the show, she added: “I’ll hold on to it for as long as I can. It’s like almost bringing a tear to my eye.
“I’ve just had a really lovely time. It’s been an adventure.
“Lots of new friendships, everyone’s so stripped back in there that you just kind of bond in a really unusual way.”
The pair both said they hoped Olympian Sir Mo Farah would be crowned king of the jungle with Collins also naming actress Beverley Callard and former football manager Harry Redknapp.
