Joe Burrow and Justin Jefferson teamed up on one of college football’s greatest teams, the 2019 LSU Tigers.
The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback and Minnesota Vikings receiver remain close, despite going their separate ways in the NFL.
In fact, Burrow and Jefferson attended the 2026 Met Gala together on Monday, May 4. “Entertainment Tonight” reporter Emily Curl caught up with Burrow at The Mark Hotel as he prepared to leave for New York City’s premier fashion event.

Burrow revealed what he and Jefferson did to prepare for the gala, and it included an unexpected admission about a TV show, per MLFootball on X.
“Yeah, it was fun,” Burrow said. “I got my friend Justin here. We went to college together, so it’s always a great time when I get to see him. … We watched some ‘Sex and the City’ and just hung out a little bit.”
The reporter couldn’t help but ask Burrow which “Sex and the City” character he is most like.
“I don’t know about that. That might not be a question for me. That might be a question for somebody else who knows me,” Burrow responded.
He is clearly a Miranda.
The LSU connection
Burrow transferred to LSU from Ohio State before the 2018 season. He and Jefferson played together for two years, but they both emerged as stars in 2019. The Tigers went undefeated and won the national championship, defeating Clemson 42-25 in the title game.
Another of their teammates, Ja’Marr Chase, also starred on the 2019 team. He joined Burrow with the Bengals and has been a first-team All-Pro the past two seasons.
In fact, several websites mistook Jefferson for Chase when identifying Burrow’s friend at the Met Gala.
Burrow wore a dark blue Bode suit and accompanied girlfriend Olivia Ponton. Jefferson did not appear to have a date for the event.
