ABC’s “Good Morning America” will broadcast a live segment from a Washington State Ferries boat Thursday.

The morning news show’s visit to Washington state comes amid its ongoing series, “50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful.” The series, which kicked off in Delaware in July 2025 to celebrate 50 years of “GMA,” is also leading up to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in July. Each week, a “GMA” anchor or correspondent visits a new state, following the order in which they joined the U.S., to spotlight a “local changemaker and showcase the state’s unique culture, history, traditions and landmarks,” according to a release from ABC News.

Washington’s “GMA” segment will be live from a Washington State Ferries vessel that they got special access to, en route from Seattle to Bainbridge Island on Thursday at 4 a.m. PST, aligning with the morning show’s usual airtime on the East Coast at 7 a.m. EST. Viewers on the West Coast can watch the tape-delayed segment at 7 a.m. PST, according to ABC News.

“GMA” correspondent Becky Worley will also feature a pretaped segment on Puget Sound Express, a family owned business that has offered whale watching tours for more than 35 years.

“This series is a chance for us to explore the country and share stories that reflect the heart of each state,” said Simone Swink, “Good Morning America” senior executive producer, in the release. “We’re looking forward to meeting people, highlighting what makes each state special, and proudly keeping the ‘A’ in ‘GMA.’ ”

Additional coverage from “50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful” will air on “GMA3,” ABC News Live and ABC News digital and social platforms. Previous segments are also uploaded to “GMA”’s YouTube channel.
