Anurag Kashyap was also present. In a recent interview, he remarked that
Cannes has largely transformed into a red-carpet occasion for numerous Indian film personalities, many of whom do not even view the films being showcased there.
Anurag Kashyap On Indian Celebs At Cannes
In a conversation with Sucharita Tyagi, Anurag expressed that in India, there is a fascination with
Cannes. Unfortunately, this focus is primarily on red-carpet appearances, while the true essence of the festival is frequently overlooked, according to the Maharaja actor. He emphasized that people often fail to recognize that Cannes is fundamentally about cinema, not merely about appearances.
When questioned about his absence on the opening day, he explained that they typically enter from the side rather than posing on the red carpet.
He further asserted that the red carpet is the least significant aspect of Cannes and that the emphasis should be on films. He also noted that many Indian participants at the Cannes market are not actually watching films.
