Elsie Hewitt has opened up about being a mother in the public eye, days after reports that she has split from Pete Davidson.
Over the weekend, the model and actress — who welcomed a daughter with the comedian in December — was photographed pushing a stroller through New York City. The snaps, published by outlets such as TMZ, arrived one day after news dropped that Hewitt and Davidson had gone their separate ways.
On Saturday, Hewitt, 30, addressed the photos with a brief TikTok video, defending herself amid critical commentary.
“Yeah, yeah, I know. I’m exhausted, okay?” Hewitt said of her appearance in the pictures. “After I left the house looking like it yesterday, I should’ve known that was gonna happen. But that’s not what I’m thinking about right now.”
Hewitt then explained that her appearance in paparazzi photos is the last thing on her mind right now, saying, “I have a baby to take care of, and I also have to work and make money.”

Her voice cracked with emotion as she continued. “I’m doing it on my own,” she said, “which is hard.”
She concluded with another reference to negative comments about her looks. “Noted,” she said. “Next time, I will try to look nicer when I go, paparazzi, on a walk with my daughter.”
In response to Hewitt’s comments about parenting on her own, a source close to Davidson tells Entertainment Weekly, “Pete has paid all expenses related to Scottie and also has covered health fees, apartment, health insurance, etc… And he has been available, accessible, and around consistently to be able to take care of Scottie.”
The insider said Hewitt’s recent comments have been “confusing and concerning,” insisting that they are “objectively and obviously not accurate.”
The source concluded, “Pete cares about her health and success. Obviously, Scottie’s health and safety is most important.”
The same day that Hewitt posted her video, she announced that she is looking to hire someone to help out with childcare.
“I’m currently trying to find an assistant/mother’s helper/nanny type — basically [a] right-hand person,” Hewitt, 30, wrote in a now-expired Instagram Story, per Us Weekly.
She then cautioned interested parties that they would have to be approved and meet certain criteria before she would even consider them for the job. “Apply here if qualified and serious,” she continued. “Only looking @ responses with resumes. ($ of course.)”
A source confirmed Davidson and Hewitt’s split to PEOPLE on Friday, noting that the couple are “working on things” and “want one another to succeed and be happy.”
“There have been points where they’ve split and have gotten back together,” the source said, but added that it’s unclear if they’ll reconcile again.

Citing a source, PEOPLE reported earlier this month that the two were “trying to figure things out together. They’re adjusting to parenthood and working through the process.” The source noted that the couple considered their daughter as their priority.

The Saturday Night Live alum and Hewitt went public with their relationship in March 2025. Three months later, the Industry alum announced that she was pregnant. In December, the pair welcomed Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, who was named after Davidson’s father, Scott Matthew Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died while responding to the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Since their baby’s arrival, the couple have avoided sharing photographs of her face, but they have documented glimpses of her life on social media.
On March 6, Hewitt celebrated Scottie turning 12 weeks old by sharing an anecdote from the day she was born. “On the way to the hospital we wrote down our predictions for what time she’d be born,” Hewitt said. “My guess was 3:05pm (my birthday, 03/05). After 23 hours of labor, that is the exact time she arrived. How crazy and cool is that?”
