Lizzie Kieffer is sharing more about the death of her daughter Lilian.
On April 23, 2025, the Missouri-based content creator’s daughter died, just 10 days past her first birthday. Her death was extremely “unexpected,” the influencer shared in a new video uploaded to Instagram on May 15, calling her late kiddo “the most healthy, spunky, fierce, vibrant little girl.”
Just over a year later, Kieffer took to social media — where she documents her life as a pelvic floor physical therapist and mom of two for hundreds of thousands of followers — to share her daughter’s diagnosis.
After Lilian’s death, doctors conducted an autopsy and learned that she had a “brain mass,” she told her followers, but they still required months of more testing before they could give a definitive diagnosis.
In October, the internet personality shared that doctors informed Kieffer and her family that Lilian had an Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor, an extremely rare brain tumor located on her brainstem.

“Based on where it was, ultimately what happened is it just kind of shut down her system,” Kieffer said. “We know that Lily passed in complete peace and we are so thankful.”
Throughout the rest of the video, the grieving mother acknowledged that the previous year had not been “an easy journey” and said that, “more than anything, we wish she was here.”
“But we are so grateful that she only experienced love and light in her days,” continued Kieffer. “We know that Lily is so very much around us still. She is alive she is watching over us.”

In September, Kieffer welcomed her third child, daughter Isla, just five months after Lilian’s death.

She has also been open about her grief, penning an emotional social media caption in August reflecting on the “drastic dichotomy” of mourning one child’s death while preparing to welcome another.
“The two ebb and flow, and sometimes show up massively at the same time,” she wrote about her conflicting emotions. “A feeling, or rather a state of being so hard to describe in and of itself, but even more complex with pregnancy.”
