Meghan Markle seems to want the royal perks but not the duties.
According to commentator Samara Gill, the Duchess of Sussex still wants to associate herself with the monarchy without carrying out the responsibilities that come with it.
“I think she does want the validation, but she also wants to continue to coast off the royal titles,” she said during an appearance on Sky News.

“I think that’s been one of the most damning and heartbreaking things for the royal family to have to witness — her secretly using some of the titles in letter headings and then them finding out about it,” Gill pointed out.
“She’s obsessed with the royal family and she’s obsessed with the cash grab that she can make off it,” the expert noted.
An insider told RadarOnline.comthat the Suits star wants to be part of The Firm for all the wrong reasons.
“There’s a belief among some people connected to the monarchy that Meghan wants all the glamour, symbolism and commercial power that comes with royal status without accepting the restrictions, obligations and scrutiny attached to royal duty itself,” the source said.

After Meghan and Prince Harryleft England in 2020, both have spoken out about their unpleasant experiences as working members of the family.
“In those months when I was pregnant [with Prince Archie]… we have in tandem the conversation of, ‘He won’t be given security. He’s not going to be given a title,’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born,” the With Love, Meghan star told Oprah Winfrey during their shocking 2021 interview.
“There were several conversations about it,” she claimed. “I think that would be very damaging to them.”
“That was relayed to me from Harry. Those were conversations that his family had with him. It was really hard to be able to see those as compartmentalized conversations,” Meghan claimed.
Royal commentator Lee Cohen believes it’s high time Meghan and Harry have their titles taken away.
“The remedy is obvious. Strip the titles. Remove the privileges. End the theatre,” he told GB News. “If they wish to operate as entertainers of influencers, they may do so — but only as private citizens. No coronet. No rank. No implied authority.”
