The track is Stephens’ first release to follow his 2021 debut album Sun Outside My Window. Produced by Stephens and mastered by Matt Colton (Arctic Monkeys, Little Simz, Tame Impala, Wet Leg), it serves as an “ode to the passage of time”.
Speaking about the song, Stephens says: “It’s a song of hope written to a less developed version of who I am today. A version of myself who didn’t know what was to come… But on the other side of that, there’s a part of me that misses the innocence of being that young. When you’re young, you kind of don’t care as much about being perfect and having your shit together. It is a love letter from my older self to my younger self and vice versa.”
