Actor and comedian Adeshina Okiki Janmole, known as Janmole, has passed away following a tragic car accident. Fellow actor Akin Olaiya confirmed the incident by sharing a clip from the accident scene, but details of the collision remain limited at this time. Akin issued a heartbreaking tribute to Adeshina, writing: “Inalilahi Wainalilahi Rojihuna. This is sad. Rest in peace, Adeshina Okiki Janmole.”
President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan, popularly called Mr Latin, penned: “May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace.
“May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen.”
The star’s passing comes almost four years after he survived a fire along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, with many people believing he narrowly escaped the flames.
Adeshina’s passing has sparked an outpouring of grief across the entertainment industry, with tributes continuing to pour in from fellow actors, filmmakers and fans.
The 49-year-old actor was known for his sense of humour and respected career in Nollywood, with one fan writing on social media: “Rest in perfect peace.”
Another added: “May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.” Someone else echoed: “May your soul rest in peace. Wishing your entire family strength and healing in this sad moment. Big loss to the movie industry.”
Another said: “Janmole is gone. His art remains. Rest well, sir. Condolences to the family, friends, and Nollywood.”
