WARWICK, RI — This Warwick Weekend events roundup features Library music, a summer market at Crowne Plaza, WCFA’s Human Nature art, food trucks and the farmers market.

The Warwick Weekend events weather forecast calls for sunny weather Thursday, Friday and Saturday with temps in the mid 80s, then temps drop to the 70s Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The Gaspee Day Arts and Crafts festival is arguably the biggest local event going this weekend, running for three days as locals have come to expect on Memorial Day weekend. The event has been drawing record numbers of vendors and usually draws more that 50,000 people. The festival boasts more than 100 artisans and food vendors, music and kids attractions, arrayed along the closed off stretch of Narragansett Parkway between Warwick and Pawtuxet Village in Cranston.

Here are some events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending the weekend, in or out:

Warwick Weekend Events Thursday:

WCFA ‘Human Nature’ Exhibit  “Human Nature”, a curated exhibition of artworks from some of our members. WCFA’s latest exhibition shows at the WCFA gallery, 3259 Post Rd, Warwick, RI 02886. The  gallery  is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.  Admission is free.

Human Nature is an invitational exhibit curated by Danielle Salisbury, WCFA Director. This exhibit seeks to illustrate the often symbiotic or disruptive relationship between humans and their natural environment.

Warwick Weekend Events Friday:

Gaspee Days Block Party Gaspee Days Block Party is Almost Here. Join us this Friday night, 6 -11 p.m., at Pawtuxet Park for an evening of live music, great food, and community fun at the Gaspee Days Block Party.

Admission is $5 per person and limited to individuals 21+. IDs will be checked at the gate. Drink tickets must be purchased after entry for beer, wine, and bottled water. Children, pets, and outside beverages are not permitted at this event.

 WCFA ‘Human Nature’ Exhibit  “Human Nature”, a curated exhibition of artworks from some of our members. WCFA’s latest exhibition shows at the WCFA gallery, 3259 Post Rd, Warwick, RI 02886. The  gallery  is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.  Admission is free.
Goddard Park Farmer’s Market  RI Grown, DEM’s farmer’s market program, hosts farmer’s market at Goddard Park selling delicious and freshly-harvested local foods direct from the farm to your dinner table. Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., from early May through late harvest season to the end of October, Goddard Park Farmers Market offers the best produce, meat, seafood, dairy, and artisanal offerings from throughout the area (including for our four-legged family members). Cash, Credit/Debit, SNAP/EBT, WIC, Bonus Bucks all accepted.

Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays The Carousel campus at Roger Wiliams Park Zoo has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. The outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starts at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.

If you miss this one, don’t worry. They’re going on every Friday till the fall.

Botanical Greenhouse (Roger Williams Park)Escape the cold and gray of winter during a visit to the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center, open year-round, Tuesday-Sunday 10 a.m. -4 p.m. (last admission at 3:30 pm.)   RWPBC is an oasis in the heart of Roger Williams Park. There are over 23,000 square feet of indoor display gardens. The year-round 70-degree temperatures in the greenhouses create a tropical ecosystem where you will find insects, birds, fish, and many other inhabitants all working together to create a balanced ecosystem. Non-Event Admission Prices:
General Admission: $5
Child (6-12), Seniors (65+), & Military (w/ ID): $2
Child (under 6): FREE
Members: FREE

Museum of Natural History & Planetarium (Roger Williams Park) Rhode Island’s only natural history museum and is home to the state’s only public planetarium. For more than a century the museum has served as a unique educational, scientific and cultural resource by offering exciting exhibits and programming that provide ways for children and families to learn about our world and its people. Open daily 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

EXHIBITS ONLY ADMISSION:
Non-members: $2 per person
Members: Free
Children age 3 and younger: Free

PLANETARIUM SHOW & EXHIBITS:
(Planetarium Show includes Museum Admission)
Nonmembers: $5 per person
Members: Free
Children must be age 4 or older to enter the Planetarium

Warwick Weekend Events Saturday

Music on the Hill, Warwick Library Enjoy a performance of Mozart, Bach, Rossini, and a few musical surprises by an ensemble from Music on the Hill on Saturday, June 6 at 2 p.m.

Music on the Hill is a nationally-recognized concert series that brings professional musicians from Rhode Island back home to share their passion for music with the communities they love. See Kyra Davies and Anton Miller on violin, Rita Porfiris on viola, Trevor Handy and Elisa Kohanski on cello, John Pellegrino on bass, and Anthony Trionfo on flute.

This event is free and open to all.

Crowne Plaza Summer Market  The Spring Into Summer Marketplace is Saturday at the Crowne Plaza Front Lot, 801 Greenwich Ave., 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. With more than 100 local vendors, crafters, bakers, and small businesses, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Spend the day shopping local, discovering unique handmade items, enjoying delicious sweet and savory treats, and supporting small businesses from around the region.

Warwick Weekend Events Memorial Day:

Gaspee Days Arts & Crafts FestivalCome enjoy two days outside where shopping, eating, music and friends are all brought together in one place. The Gaspee Days Arts & Crafts Festival is a free, fun, and family-friendly experience that showcases over 100 fine artisans, community groups, and non-profits where you will find one-of-a-kind arts and delicious craft fair eats. Over the course of three days, Pawtuxet Park fills with live music by our hand-picked local bands while children enjoy the many amusements available. This event will take place from 10 a.m.- 4:30 p.m
