Victor Wembanyama will be the main attraction when the San Antonio Spurs meet the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals.
But there will be more stars to gaze at, both on and off the court.
The Knicks are known for the celebrities who cheer on Jalen Brunson and co. Director Spike Lee and actor and director Ben Stiller are super fans. “30 Rock” co-stars Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan have been spotted at games. So have Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.

Starting with two of the San Antonio area’s best known residents, the Spurs have their celebrity fans, too.
The team has attracted tons of attention this season, so star watchers could see some new clusters of bold-faced names. Comedian Shane Gillis, for instance, made the trip down from Austin for a Western Conference Finals game, though the “Tires” star might have been cheering for the team with a truck stop logo on its jerseys.
There’s no way to know who will show up courtside this week, but these famous faces all have cheered for the Silver and Black in the past:
George Strait
The King of Country performed the first concert at Frost Bank Center (then the SBC Center) after it opened in 2002; the concert announcement described him as an avid Spurs fan who looked forward to attending games in the new arena. During his June 2013 concert at the Alamodome, he led a “Go Spurs Go” chant as the team was heading into the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat.

Tommy Lee Jones
Oscar winner Jones, who owns a home in Terrell Hills and a ranch in San Saba, has been spotted at multiple Spurs games. He even rode in the barge with team owner Peter Holt during the river parade celebrating the Spurs’ 2003 NBA championship.

Selena Gomez
The “Only Murders in the Building” star, a Texas native, told the Express-News early in her career that she and her dad were huge Spurs fans. She even said she wore Spurs gear while watching her team play the Lakers in Los Angeles.
Eva Longoria
Actor, director and activist Longoria was a member of the Spurs family when she was married for three years to future Hall of Famer Tony Parker. But Longoria, who grew up in Corpus Christi, was a Spurs fan first. More recently, she appeared in social media ads urging voters here to support a new arena for the team.
Jared Padalecki
The “Supernatural” star, who grew up in San Antonio, is an avowed Spurs fan. He and his TV brother Jensen Ackles were spotted together with their wives at a Spurs game in Austin in 2023.

Danny Trejo
A Grantland feature by Shea Serrano about a decade ago named the “Machete” star the “best celebrity fan for the Spurs.” Trejo appeared in a video before Game 1 of 2014 NBA Finals, declaring “This is our team … It’s our time. It’s our moment. And it’s our house.”

WWE Hall of Fame member and San Antonio native Michaels, aka the Heartbreak Kid, has been attending Spurs games since the ’70s, according to a story posted on nba.com. “I may have been on the road for 300 days a year when I was wrestling, but I always kept my home and my heart with San Antonio and the Spurs,” Michaels told sports writer Lorne Chan.

Shirley Manson
The lead singer of the band Garbage, Manson has worn Spurs colors and praised the team onstage. “You know how much I love your team,” she said during a 2016 concert at the Majestic Theatre.
Shannyn Sossamon
In a long Instagram post earlier this year, actress Sossamon (“A Knight’s Tale”) wrote about why the Spurs were her favorite team around the last time the team competed in the NBA Finals. The photo accompanying the post shows her wearing a Kawhi Leonard jersey.
