The Beverly Hills, 90210 star and McDermott married in May 2006. In June 2023, McDermott announced in a since-deleted Instagram post that the two were separating after 18 years of marriage. Spelling filed for divorce from McDermott in March 2024.
They settled their divorce in November 2025, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE at the time. They listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and June 17, 2023, as the date of separation.
In March, Spelling told PEOPLE she had no immediate interest in dating again due to other priorities.
“I am not thinking about dating. I am in my power era and I’m rebuilding and reinventing and taking it to the next level,” the misSPELLING podcast host told PEOPLE at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
“And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m back. This is my second chapter,’ ” she continued. “So I really … I have so many businesses that I want to build, [and build] my empire and I can date later. That can always come.”

Spelling and McDermott are also on good terms when it comes to co-parenting their children.
“It’s just a different version of a family now and we’ll always be family,” she told PEOPLE. “So it’s really great for the kids, and I’m the lucky … We’re the lucky ones. We got good ex-partners.”
Spelling, four of her children and three of their friends were involved in a car accident in Temecula, Calif., in April. She later thanked first responders and “guardian angels” in an April 7 Instagram video.
“We are so grateful and so lucky, because it could have been so much worse,” Spelling said. “I’m just really grateful that in a split second, guardian angels were definitely with us that day.”
