The Pitt star Shawn Hatosy reacted to being called a “silver fox” during his latest appearance on CBS Mornings
Nate Burleson laughed that the actor was “blushing” after the comment
“I’m getting used to it,” he said
Shawn Hatosy is taking in the compliments.
The Pitt star, 50, appeared to blush during his Friday, June 12 appearance on CBS Mornings while he explained why he’s “getting used to” all the buzz around him and his character, Dr. Jack Abbot.
“You’ve been acting for more than two decades. I remember you as a younger man. And now you’re being described as a silver fox,” Nate Burleson told the actor. “How do you feel about that?”
After Burleson, 44, asked Hatosy if he was “blushing,” The Pitt star explained what the compliment meant to him.
“I’m getting used to it,” he said. “It’s crazy to be part of a show like this. Like you said, I came in as a guest star in one episode. I was in, like, two scenes. So it’s very unexpected to be 50 and to be experiencing this new kind of fandom.”

Hatosy, who appeared on CBS Mornings to promote his performance in the HBO Max medical drama, boarded The Pitt for its first season in 2025 and reprised the role for season 2, which concluded in April. In January, the streamer announced that The Pitt had been renewed for a third season.
Elsewhere during his interview with CBS Mornings, Hatosy was asked why he thinks fans connected with his character so much. “Both him and Dr. Robby are incredibly competent,” he said. “They can do any trauma that’s in front of them. But when it comes to their mental health, they are struggling. And that position, attending, there’s so much stress and responsibility. It weighs on them.”
He added, “I think part of it is, yes, he’s very calm in the face of chaos. He can handle anything. But he’s struggling, as is Robby. And they have to come together. They’re the two that understand this and are sort of navigating their way through.”

In an interview with Variety published on Monday, June 8, Hatosy opened up about embracing the latest buzz around him and his work. “I don’t know how this happened,” he said. “I’m starting to blush! I’m surprised by it, to be honest. I really am, because I just never would have thought that that guy that walked in to do The Pitt … it just doesn’t compute.”
“But look, the opportunities that I’m seeing now because of all of it, are different and exciting,” he said. “I’m in different rooms talking about projects that are really, really exciting. The only thing you can do is, first of all laugh, because that’s important, and then embrace. You have to embrace it.”
The Pitt‘s forthcoming third season is set to take place in the fall, Noah Wyle previously shared, later explaining at Warner Bros. Upfronts in May 2026 that it will be set in early November, per Deadline. He told USA Today that the upcoming season “will be pre-Thanksgiving, moving into colder weather.”
“The holidays are approaching. The weather’s changing,” he said. “People are turning on their heaters for the first time… It will be explosive.”
The Pitt seasons 1 and 2 can be streamed on HBO Max.
