The K-Stage Festival, a four-day extravaganza of South Korean performing arts, will kick off at the East Kowloon Cultural Centre in Hong Kong on June 25, following its successful debut in Taiwan in 2025.

The festival will feature four stage productions: a stage adaptation of the 2011 K-drama Dream High, about six high school students who dream of being K-pop idols; Jump, a comedy about a family of martial arts savants; The Greatest Taekwondo, which blends traditional martial arts with modern performance to showcase the spectacle of South Korea’s national sport; and Inside Me, a musical about the challenges of social media.

Each day will see Dream High, Jump and The Greatest Taekwondo run back-to-back in the matinee slot, while Inside Me will run as the main evening show.

Irene Jung, executive director of the Korean Tourism Organisation Hong Kong office and co-organiser of the event, believes the festival will show South Korean culture in a new light.

“We designed this festival to showcase Korean performing arts as a fresh, exciting reason to visit Korea again,” she says.

The festival subscribes to the motto: “Experience it in Hong Kong, and enjoy the full show in Korea.” Jung and her fellow organisers carefully selected shows that are popular and long-running in South Korea.
