South Africa’s biggest export to the global entertainment industry, Tyla, has taken the world by storm, and she is keeping the momentum going.
On Thursday, 18 June, the ‘Water’ hitmaker treated fans to a brand-new single and accompanying music video.
‘This Is Love’ has already received a great deal of praise from fans, while the music video has garnered more than 1,5 million views on YouTube.
Tyla’s latest single is just one part of what has been a highly successful 2026 so far.
Everything Tyla has done in 2026 thus far
The brand-new single comes fresh off her performance of the South African national anthem at the FIFA World Cup opening match in Mexico, alongside the Mzansi Youth Choir.
She also performed alongside Future at a World Cup ceremony in the United States on Friday.
The two artists collaborated on a FIFA World Cup song titled ‘GAME TIME’, which they released in May.
Colombian singer Shakira also announced that Tyla would be joining her for the American leg of her ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’ tour.
The 24-year-old will perform at one of the shows.
The Grammy-winning singer has also stepped into the world of film. Tyla is set to make a cameo appearance in Pixar’s upcoming film, Toy Story 5.
New album
Tyla has been building anticipation for her upcoming album, ‘A*POP’, which is scheduled for release on 24 July. While the full track list has not yet been revealed, ‘Is It Love?’ offers a glimpse of what is to come.
If the reaction to the new single is anything to go by, Tyla’s next album could be her biggest yet.
To date, Tyla has released one studio album, ‘TYLA’, which came out in March 2024.
