This one might be dropping soon.

Morgan Wallen played night one of his two-show run at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, which featured Brooks & Dunn, Gavin Adcock and Zach John King as openers.

Other than making a little joke about him canceling his most recently-scheduled show in Pittsburgh a couple weeks ago due to predicted weather, it looks like he was listening to some of his unreleased new music backstage, as he shared a teaser of him listening to one he’s shared a little bit of recently, though what he played this time is a different part of the song.

Of course, he released his monster fourth studio album I’m The Problem in May of 2025, and he did go on a 20-show tour of the same name last year too, but since then, he’s been pretty quiet, though he did put out a studio cut of his cover of “Graveyard Whistling” in October of last year, which fans thought could potentially be part of a deluxe edition of I’m The Problem, but that hasn’t proven to be the case, at least not yet.

He said not long ago that he was ready to start teasing some new music, though, and I have to imagine this new one will be dropping in the not-too-distant future. It finds him coming to the realization that he’s in a relationship that’s no longer working… because “if it was meant to be, it we’d have been by now”:

“If I could go and find,
The moment or the night
My heart went cold as ice, I’d light the match
Don’t wanna draw the line
Don’t wanna say goodbye
But we’re just wasting time, girl
That we don’t have

If it was meant to be we’d have been by now,
We wouldn’t have to keep trying to work things out
Yeah baby we’re a freeze when the lights go down
It wouldn’t be so hard when we ain’t in the dark…”

It has that heavily pop-influenced production that Morgan often infuses into his music, and of course, it’s very catchy, and I’m sure fans are ready for him to put out as soon as possible.

It’s unclear what the name of the song is, and who the writers are, but he shared the clip along with a video of him trying on his hat multiple times with the caption:

“I wear a lot of hats.”

I’m sure that’s some sort of hint as to what’s to come, so stay tuned, because I have a feeling there’s much more to be revealed…

Morgan will still has about a month and a half of shows left on his Still The Problem tour run.
