Joanna Gaines is keeping it real when it comes to her attic!
The Magnolia Network co-founder, 48, gave a relatable tour of the space at her Waco, Texas, home in a July 1 Instagram Reel, alongside the caption, “Welcome to my attic 🫠.” She begins the clip by peeking her head out from behind a wall as numerous items that she’s collected over the years are seen in bins scattered on the floor and table.
“Hi everyone, I’m Joanna Gaines. Welcome to my attic,” she says, before she quips, “because I’m very proud of my attic.”
Providing more context for the tour of the rarely seen room, she explains, “We are shooting some rooms in the house today, which has forced me to hide and face the reality that I have a problem. But, I want to show you some of my favorite things in here. A walk down memory lane.”
She continues the tour by pulling out one of her creations from over 20 years ago before giving viewers the backstory behind it.
“This is so funny. When I used to do my little shop on Bosque, you guys, this was the stuff I would sell. I would collect all this white dinnerware and make cake plate stands. How cute was this? A big seller at Magnolia, circa 2005,” she says.
Moving on to the other gems she has hidden in the space, she pulls out a walking boot and notes, “This, just in case. When you have five kids you never know when you’re going to need the boot. So not letting go of the boot.”
Gaines shares five children with husband Chip, 51, including daughters Emmie, 16, and Ella, 19, and sons Crew, 8, Duke, 18, and Drake, 21.
As she moves to another area of her attic, she then pulls out a brown wig and places it on her head.

“Um, so this is from my first collection of wigs. And this one was a hit,” she jokes, before adding, “Actually, I have no idea why there is a wig up here but I promise it’s not mine.”
Joanna concludes the funny tour by offering viewers some advice: “I’m on my own today guys, and I’m feeling sick to my stomach and I’m regretting some choices. And I’m also here to say, clean your attics, folks. It’s summertime.”
