Questlove, who knows a thing or two about talk shows, is developing his own: The Next Move. The show will replicate the Roots drummer’s own celebrity game nights, according to Variety, in which he and three guests play Uno, Jenga, and other games all while chatting about their lives, interests, and work. People will be able to view the first episode on Questlove’s new Do You Want More?! digital channel, which already hosts his Questlove Supreme podcast. Later, the show will be available via Amazon.
“Out of all my social experiments, game nights have been some of my favorites in my career,” Questlove said. “With The Next Move, I’m bringing friends together to play and talk and see what happens. You can learn a lot about a person when they’re playing a game, and now we’re inviting you to come join us in the conversation, too.”

The show is a natural outgrowth of Questlove’s game nights, which he began hosting in the 2010s. Taylor Swift, Jason Sudeikis, Lupita Nyong’o, Megan Thee Stallion, Quinta Brunson, and J.J. Abrams have all participated in previous game nights, Variety reports. Questlove will plan guests for the show with Amazon.
Two One Five Entertainment, the production company Questlove runs alongside fellow Root Black Thought, will run The Next Move. Other Two One Five productions include Summer of Soul, Sly Lives!, The League, and Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music, among others. They’re also behind the upcoming documentary, Earth, Wind, & Fire, which Questlove directed.
