The music country will open the summer concert season in Peekskill. For four consecutive hours, two bands will take the stage at Riverfront Green on Wednesday, July 8, launching a free programming series that, over four weeks, will bring different musical genres to the park and gather five regional groups in one of the city’s most anticipated summer traditions.
The series will begin on Wednesday with the performance of Six String Country. The band will play from 6 to 8 p.m. It will then be followed by Hillbilly Parade from 8 to 10 p.m. According to the invitation, this will be the only date in the concert series featuring two bands on the same night, making the evening the longest event in the program.
The rest of the lineup will maintain a two-hour concert format. The Crew Band will perform on July 15, Seeing Red on July 22, and Bosco & The Storm will close the series on July 29. All concerts will take place at Riverfront Green, located on Hudson Ave., and will be free to attend.
Although each week will offer a different musical style, the structure will remain the same. Attendees will be allowed to bring folding chairs or blankets to enjoy the outdoor concerts, a feature that has made the program one of the most attended free summer activities in Peekskill and an accessible alternative for families, couples, and friends.
The Crew Band will offer a repertoire that includes classic rock, pop, and Motown. Seeing Red and Bosco & The Storm will participate in the Peekskill Summer Concert Series as rock and pop groups. Both bands regularly perform at regional stages and outdoor community events.
Cortlandt Expands Free Concert Offerings

The summer music season will also continue in the neighboring Town of Cortlandt, which will host its own Summer Concert Series on Thursdays in July at Cortlandt Waterfront Park in Verplanck, approximately three miles from Peekskill.
Concerts will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature FDR Drive band on July 9, Grateful BRO on July 23, and Class Action on July 30. In addition to musical performances, some dates will include free outdoor movie screenings. After the July 23 concert, A Minecraft Movie will be shown, offering a family-friendly program that extends beyond music.
Unlike Peekskill, whose series is dedicated exclusively to concerts, Cortlandt will combine live music with food and dessert vendors, including Homestyle Desserts Bakery, Mister Softee, and Octavio’s Food Wagon. Attendees will also be able to bring chairs or blankets to remain in the park throughout the evening.
With both programs, residents of northern Westchester will have access to seven free concert nights throughout July. The nearly continuous schedule of live music will allow families to enjoy regional artists and community activities during the warm season and school break.
