Peacock’s The Five-Star Weekend is an emotional rollercoaster, following famed foodie Hollis Shaw (Jennifer Garner) on her friend-fueled getaway to escape (and, ultimately, cope with) her grief after the sudden death of her husband.
The eight-episode series adapts Erin Hilderbrand’s 2023 novel of the same name and finds Hollis recruiting her best friends from every era of her life for a weekend away at her Nantucket manor. As meticulously planned as her calendar is, though, many surprises await the group.
With all episodes streaming at once starting Thursday, July 9, some fans may be wondering if there’s more to the story stil to come. Here’s what we know so far.
Is The Five-Star Weekend renewed for Season 2?
Not yet. Peacock has only announced one season of the series so far, and the book upon which it is based does not have a sequel at this time. That doesn’t mean a second season can’t happen — as similarly poised dramas like Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers well prove.
Who will star in The Five-Star Weekend Season 2?
If the show were to return for Season 2, it’s hard to imagine it going on without Jennifer Garner as the lead character Hollis Shaw. The series’ first season also stars Harlow Jane as her daughter, Caroline Shaw; Regina Hall as friend Dru-Ann Jones; Chloë Sevigny as life-long bestie Tatum McKenzie; D’Arcy Carden as Brooke Kirtley; Gemma Chan as Gigi Ling; Timothy Olyphant as Jack Finnigan; and Judy Greer as Electra.

What will happen in The Five-Star Weekend Season 2?
A logline for Season 2 has not been revealed. The first season’s official description told us, “The Five-Star Weekend is centered on Hollis Shaw, a famed cook and best-selling author known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor, who suffers a devastating loss. Unable to move forward, the death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis’s picture-perfect life—her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter, and her growing pursuit of validation from her fans. In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, thirties, and one surprise fifth star. Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, the stars will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed.”
