Lindsay Lohan celebrated her 40th birthday with a beach getaway and party surrounded by family and friends
She shared a glimpse at her beachside retreat alongside mom Dinah, dad Michael and her siblings and husband and a birthday party with them present as well

Lindsay Lohan is celebrating her 40th birthday with family and friends, including dad Michael Lohan.
The Freakier Friday star shared several pictures and videos on Instagram celebrating the big milestone with a beach getaway and a party, where her loved ones gathered together to sing her a “Happy Birthday.”
Lindsay shared a glimpse into the celebrations, kicking off her post showing her view while relaxing on a lounge chair on the beach. She shared an emoji of a white heart above the picture.
She also shared a shot of multiple beach chairs laid out side by side with several items on them while tagging her family members including father Michael, 66, mother Dina, 63, her brother, Dakota, 30, and sister Aliana, 32. She also tagged husband Bader Shammas, 40.

Following the beach day, it appeared that her family and friends attended a dinner celebration. In one video she reshared, the actress could be seen wearing a silver dress with flower detailing and gold jewelry as she sat in front of a flower-themed birthday cake.
Michael could be seen recording the moment on his phone off to the side, as her friend Ayesha Curry, 37, sang along as she sat beside Lindsay. Over the video were rainbow emojis with hearts and the numbers “40.”
Lindsay and her father have had a tumultuous relationship over the years, with Lindsay at one point slamming her father online and calling him a “lunatic” on social media. The pair were also estranged in the subsequent years following her parents’ 2005 divorce.
Michael has also faced legal troubles which have reportedly put a strain on their relationship. This includes an arrest in 2020 following a domestic violence dispute involving his second wife and former reporter Kate Major. The DA’s office ultimately did not pursue the charges. He was also most recently arrested in February 2025 on a domestic violence charge in Texas. He was sentenced to nine months but was released early in October 2025.

However, the father and daughter appear to have mended their relationship in recent years, as Michael told PEOPLE in 2023 that he felt blessed to have a new grandson after Lindsay welcomed son Luai with her husband.
“All I can say is I’m so so happy for Lindsay and Bader! They will be amazing parents,” Michael told PEOPLE at the time. “We are all truly blessed in so many ways!”

“Michael has a little girl so this is the first little boy in the family and it’s just wonderful,” he added, referencing son Michael Lohan Jr., 35, and wife Nina Ginsberg’s daughter Isabel Scarlet, born in June 2021. “Everything went great with Lindsay, absolutely amazing and the delivery went really smooth.”
Michael also shared a sweet photo of himself with Lindsay and Shammas from San Francisco in 2022, when he had the opportunity to meet his son-in-law’s parents for the first time. He could be seen sitting on one side of Lindsay, as Shammas sat on the other.
