From professional athletes to award-winning actors and singers, around 1,000 guests attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s lavish wedding at Madison Square Garden. But since the July 3 nuptials, quite a few stars have come forward and revealed they had to decline the invitation, including Shania Twain.
During a recent appearance on the Canadian talk show ETalk, Twain revealed that she couldn’t attend Swift and Kelce’s wedding because she had prior commitments—one that involved Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles. Twain was the opening act for Styles’ 12-show residency at London’s Wembley Stadium, which overlapped with Swift and Kelce’s big day.
“Taylor Swift invited me to her wedding, and I couldn’t go because I was already committed to Harry’s shows,” Twain explained.
She added that “it’s just kind of funny that that happened that way,” clearly referencing Swift and Styles’ romantic relationship.
“I was already committed, and I couldn’t go,” Twain continued. “I would have done anything to be at Taylor’s wedding. I would have done anything, and that would have been really lovely for me to be there. But I was with Harry.”
The “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” singer then joked, “If Harry ever gets married and he wants me at his wedding, then… he’s going to have to ask me more in advance.”

Swift and Styles briefly dated from 2012 to 2013. The pair reportedly met at the Kids’ Choice Awards in March 2012 and sparked romance rumors in November when the “Style” hitmaker started wearing a paper airplane necklace similar to the one Styles wore at the time.
They were spotted together numerous times, including in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, before calling it quits in January 2013. Swift and Styles reportedly broke up on bad terms, and it’s rumored that much of Swift’s album 1989 was inspired by the former One Direction member.
“Things did not end well between Taylor and Harry,” a source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice in April 2026. “Publicly, it’s ancient history. Privately, it’s still delicate.”
