This week, global superstars BTS sent ARMY into a frenzy with the premiere of their music video, “NORMAL.” Debuting first on Spotify, it quickly made history by becoming the most-streamed K-Pop music video in a single day on the platform.
The video explores a deeply personal side of BTS, set around a late-night party and the quiet morning after. It captures what life looks like for the artists when they’re finally out of the spotlight and taking a moment for themselves.
Their record-breaking drop is the latest music video from ARIRANG, the group’s chart-topping fifth studio album. On March 20, the album became the most-streamed K-Pop album in Spotify history.
Celebrating the ARIRANG era
To mark their return earlier this year, Spotify teamed up with BTS for a series of immersive live events that brought ARMY together in cities around the world.
As part of the festivities, BTS took the stage at New York City’s Pier 17 for a live show that marked their first U.S. performance in four years.
In addition, we also introduced in-app experiences like Decoding ARIRANG and the BTS Music Quiz that gave ARMY new, immersive ways to interact with music they love.
BTS by the numbers
Anyone tuned into the pop universe already knows BTS is one of the most dominant forces in music today, with their tracks featured on over 130 million user-generated Spotify playlists.
To date, the group has had six songs inducted into Spotify’s Billions Club, including “Dynamite,” “My Universe,” “Butter,” “Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey),” “FAKE LOVE,” and “Life Goes On.”
And because ARMY knows no borders, listeners are pressing play all over the world, with the U.S., Japan, and Peru ranking among the top countries streaming the group.
Fans watch first on Spotify
Currently available in beta markets for Premium subscribers, music videos on Spotify give fans a new way to experience their favorite tracks, alongside exclusive content like live performances and covers.
Just ahead of BTS’ record-breaking drop, Jelly Roll launched his music video for “Hands Up” exclusively on Spotify for 48 hours.
