A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ new Squire for Hire series gives select celebrities the Westeros treatment

HBO is bringing Westeros to life for a social media age, with a new marketing campaign that the network is utilizing to promote hit new series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. To do so, they’re combining effort with the folks at Taskrabbit to give some of Game of Thrones’ most iconic celebrity fans the Westeros treatment. (Er, the good kind, not the Red Wedding kind.) How are they doing this, you ask?

Why, by sending them their own squire, of course.

Squire for Hire is a three-part video series that will see an unnamed squire, in full Westeros garb, showing up at the houses of Noah Beck, Marshawn Lynch, and The Chainsmokers (who all live together, I guess?), where he’ll attempt to perform his knightly duties (chores around the house) as best he can. The first of the series, starring Noah Beck, drops January 29, along with the accompanying website SquireForHire.com.

“Through standout celebrity collaborations and a first-of-its-kind Taskrabbit sweepstakes,” said Mark Doumet, VP of HBO Max Originals Marketing, “Squire For Hire invites fans to experience A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms in ways that reflect the series itself, unexpected, character-driven, and genuinely funny […] It’s a playful reintroduction to Westeros that signals this new style of adaptation, one that embraces wit and heart alongside the epic.”

Sounds good Mark, but what was that you said about sweepstakes?

Yeah, so of course HBO Max isn’t just doing Squire for Hire for the celebrities amongst us; they’d risk a peasant’s revolt! Along with the campaign, HBO and Taskrabbit are granting one grand prize winner a visit from the same squire as in the video series, along with a Tasker to help him with all the non-medieval things to do around the house. LA-based fans can enter the sweepstakes via SquireForHire.com.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is streaming on HBO Max now.
