Music lovers of almost all genres and formats can find something that hits their sweet spot throughout DeKalb County in a variety of venues. With temperatures warming—sometimes to more summerlike than springtime—these outdoor musical events are ideal in celebration of spring and the love of music.
Sunday Showcase
Billed as “An afternoon of great tunes, fresh air, and community vibes”, Sunday Showcase features Run Katie Run on April 12. The venue is the Tucker Town Green, 4226 Railroad Ave., and the free event runs from noon to 2 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.
Music in the Garden
Music in the Garden, a collaboration between Snug Concerts and Wylde Center, is six “carefully curated outdoor concerts” held at Oakhurst Garden. The series features “diverse musical voices across jazz, rock, soul, pop, and classics.” The first concert in the series was held March 21 and the others follow through October. Tickets are $30. Oakhurst Jazz Nights
Every Thursday in April at The Solarium at Historic Scottish Rite, jazz is played outdoors from 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakhurst Jazz Nights. The lineup for the free concerts is:

- Matt Wauchope Trio, April 30

Weekend Wind Down Concert Series

WigWag Art and Music Festival
Art and music are celebrated at the WigWag Art and Music Festival, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 2 in Avondale Estates. Tucker Day
Several musical groups are set to perform at Tucker Day on May 2. Groups include Atlanta Vice, Gypsy Thunder Band, and Spike Mulligan Band, as well as the Tucker High School Band performing on a stage on Main Street and another stage at the Tucker Town Green. Spring festivals
While not solely a music event, the Chamblee Arts Fest, April 18-19, feature musical performances. Musical street performers are scheduled for appearances at the Chamblee Art Fest held along Peachtree Road starting at the Chamblee MARTA Station. For details, go to splashfestivals.com.
