“The Hobbit” actress and former model Evangeline Lilly, 46, recently revealed that she sustained brain damage months after suffering a concussion in an incident where she fell face-first into a boulder.

She turned to Instagram on Jan. 2 to share the awful news in a video.

The video is the latest health update the “Lost” actress has posted in a string of videos explaining her “healing process,” since first opening up about the incident back in May.

“I’m entering into this new year, the Year of the Horse, with some bad news about my concussion,” the actress shared. “A lot of you asked how I’m doing. A lot of you have inquired about the brain scans that you heard I got. And the results came back from the scans.”

The star stepped away from acting in 2024 shortly after revealing her the traumatic experience to fans.

The “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” star shared the results from those scans, saying that it showed “almost every area in my brain is functioning at a decreased capacity.”

“So I do have brain damage from the TBI (traumatic brain injury), and possibly other factors going on,” she explained.

In addition to feeling incredibly “grateful” and “blessed” to know about her condition, Lilly added she is now ready for what comes next.

“Now my job is to get to the bottom of that with doctors and then embark on the hard work of fixing it, which I don’t look forward to because I feel like hard work is all I do,” she said. “But that’s okay. My cognitive decline since I smashed my face open has helped me to slow down and helped me to have a more restful finish to my 2025.”

Additionally, the actress said receiving the results was a plus because she felt “comforted” in the fact that her symptoms weren’t tied to perimenopause.

“Verdict’s in…I do have brain damage from my tbi,” she wrote in the caption of the recent update. “Comforting to know my cognitive decline isn’t just perimenopause, discomforting to know what an uphill battle it will be to try to reverse the deficiencies. Thank you all for always asking, for always caring, and for your continued prayers.”
