Adele is ready for her big-screen close-up — and a source says the “Hello” singer is looking to Lady Gaga as inspiration.
“Gaga’s managed to transform herself into a viable Hollywood leading lady while not losing her music career,” explains the source. “Adele wants to replicate that.”
Among the flicks the “Poker Face” diva, 39, has paved the way with are A Star Is Born, House of Gucci and Joker: Folie à Deux.
Now, her 37-year-old pop peer is set to make her own movie debut alongside the likes of Nicholas Hoult, Colin Firth and Hunter Schafer in Tom Ford’s Cry to Heaven.
Currently in production, the period film is based on the Anne Rice novel of the same name and will likely hit theaters this fall, Deadline reports.
“Time will tell if Adele’s acting skills are up to the challenge,” the source admits. “This movie is a crapshoot — she’s willing to risk her entire image for it.”

Back in 2024, the recording artist revealed to German broadcaster ZDF that she planned to take a “big break” after roughly two years of performing in her “Weekends With Adele” residency in Las Vegas.
“I want to do other creative things, just for a little while,” she said, per Variety.
But Adele hinted to The Hollywood Reporter that finding the right project had been challenging.
“I get offered to do biopics of singers, and I think that’s too obvious,” she told THR in 2023. “And also anyone that’s great enough to have a biopic about them, you’re just setting yourself up for disaster. Then would they want me to sing as myself? Because then it would sound like me, it wouldn’t sound like them. So I wouldn’t do it. But that’s all I’ve been offered, really.”
