The viewership bump follows the limited series’ strong performance at the Emmys, taking home eight awards including outstanding limited series, lead limited series actor (Stephen Graham), supporting limited series actor (Owen Cooper) and supporting limited series actress (Erin Doherty). In addition to the eight wins, Netflix won the award for short form nonfiction series with “Adolescence: The Making of Adolescence.”
“Adolescence” is one of Netflix’s biggest successes ever, having become the streamer’s second-most popular English-language series of all time with 146.2 million views in its first 91 days of streaming. Only “Wednesday” Season 1 is above it on that chart, with Seasons 1 and 2 of “Squid Game” having accured more viewership on the non-English language chart.
