‘Adolescence’s Erin Doherty Takes Home Emmy For Outstanding Supporting Actress & Dedicates To Big Sister

When it comes to garnering wins for the first time nominees featured in Netflix’s Adolescence, the court finds the Television Academy guilty.

Erin Doherty snagged her first time Emmy nomination and subsequent Emmy win on Sunday night for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for the popular Netflix crime-drama. In her speech, Doherty mentioned being eternally grateful for the experience of working on the show. “I’m going to banging on about Adolescence and Owen Cooper for the rest of my life,” the actor said. “I would love to mention every single person that was involved in the making of this show, it was the definition of team effort.” She went on to sing praises for her co-star Hannah Walters and co-star and show co-creator Stephen Graham who she referred to as “generosity personified.”
