AFI just put out a new music video for their single “Behind the Clock” as a sneak peak of whats to come from their newly announced album Silver Bleeds The Black Sun…, set for release on October 22. The record is produced via Run For Cover Records and will be the bands 12th full-length record of their career.
The video for “Behind the Clock” was directed by Gilbert Trejo and shot in the same lens as a haunted house, spirits or demons roaming around in this It also depicts vocalist and frontman Davey Havok in a totally new look than what we’ve come to know of him. He has gone from his emo side side bangs and mohawks to a new burly exterior with a thick mustache and long curly locks. The song and what I except will be similar from the rest of the album is ringing in a new era for this beloved band.
AFI have expanded upon and shifted their sound over the course of their three decades as a band; As we look forward to this upcoming release, it appears that they may be really tapping into the dark-wave side of their music for this project. What’s for sure is that they always have something new up their sleeves, which is what has garnered them such a dedicated following all these years.
AFI will be touring the U.S. this fall just prior to the release of the album and be supported by TR/ST, lowfi electronic musician from Toronto, Canada. You can get tickets to a city near you at the bands official website.
